After a series of eye-opening encounters with the maternal health system and a life-changing home birth experience with the midwives at Kindred Space LA, I committed myself to raising awareness about the urgent need to create more access to midwifery care by sharing my story and relentlessly advocating for policy change.

But raising awareness and lobbying for legislative change was just a first step.

On my birthday in December 2023, I set a fundraising goal to sponsor one woman’s birth journey. The goal was simple: To cover the cost of holistic perinatal care and midwifery birth support for a family in LA who would otherwise not have access to quality maternal care. In just 16 hours, $16k was raised, resulting in funding the full suite of birth services for not just one, but two families in her community. Overnight, requests for birth support came in from across the country.

So I decided to tap my network of friends to join a coalition of activated mothers and families willing to do the same for others seeking quality, holistic birth support. With a powerful giving circle of founding family funders and with the support of strategic corporate partners who will match our collective raise, we are scaling this community birth support model for immediate, life-saving impact.We’re done waiting for these systems to change.

We’re stepping in where the systems won’t. Because it’s on us to save us. But we can’t do this work alone. Our potential collective impact is far greater than anything we could ever do on our own. I hope you’ll join us.
